Naxos Island

Koronos (36 Km from Naxos Town) is one of the most beautiful villages in Naxos Island. It is a stepped village, scrabbling up two opposite mountain sides and renowned for its emery mines. As there is no road passing through the village, exploring can be done only on foot.

The square of the village (called Platsa) is the place where most locals spend their time.

• The Old Olive Press Museum.
• The local Folklore Collection Museum is worth a visit.
• The church of Agia Marina (Santa Marina) -celebrations on 17th of July.
• A turning off to the right, 500 meters prior to Koronos, leads to the church of Panagia Argokiliotissa (4 Km) which is beautifully situated on a hill and has an excellent view.

• Dalas Tavern. At the main square of the village, home made food.
• Anagennisis Restaurant, a few metres after the main entrance of the village. Home made food, home made pizza.
